Hello, my name is Claire Sion (クレア・シオン). I am 18 years old and I'm a Rotary exchange student. I am from Brussels in Belgium. Even if Belgium is really small, it is an amazing country with great people. I started to learn Japanese four months before coming, and I wish I could have begun earlier because now, it is really difficult to speak to people and understand them. But I do my best and am improving my Japanese day by day.
I chose to come to Japan for a year because it has been my dream since I was 8 years old. It began with my first MANGA, and then my first ANIME, and now I am in Japan, realizing my dream. I have other hobbies than reading MANGA and watching ANIME, like cooking, watching movies, listening to music, hanging out with my friends, and going shopping.
In Japan, I would like to learn Japanese, of course, but also learn the culture and the life of the Japanese. I would like to learn food recipes that I can do in Belgium and learn tradition (like 茶華道). In Japan I would also like to meet people, improve my English and live a wonderful year, full of experiences, as we say in Belgium: “Rotary exchange, it is not a year in a life, but a life in a year.”
I will finish with some French: Merci beaucoup de m’avoir donné la chance d’apprendre et de découvrir le Japon. Je sens que cette année va être une expérience formidable et enrichissante. J’espère bien représenter la Belgique et les valeurs qu’elle véhicule.
Thank you a lot, Merci beaucoup, ありがとうございます、dank u wel!
